Design Strategy
I chose the name Blue Thread Studios because it represents the common thread that connects all my work - bringing together creative, fluid storytelling with structured marketing strategy. For the visual identity, I wanted a look that reflects both raw artistry and commercial purpose. The branding features an animated logo inspired by organic paint splotches to show creative freedom, grounded by clean grid layouts and refined typography.
To show how the identity functions in the real world, I built out a full suite of brand assets, including a professional brand board, a cohesive LinkedIn banner, clean business card designs, and a streamlined email signature. By mixing these tactile visual marks with a highly functional user experience, the system demonstrates how imaginative design can directly serve business objectives.
Process & Ideation
My final palette came from combining two different sources of inspiration. I was really drawn to a specific look, but I also connected deeply with the natural gradients and textures in my initial brand moodboard. The five colours I landed on reflect that process, pulling the rich cobalt blue from raw artistic pigments, and balancing it with the vibrant hot magenta, amber orange and golden yellow tones found in the sunset photography and bleeding watercolour elements. Tied together by a warm cream neutral, the final combination feels energetic, professional and completely intentional.

The paint splotch below is the strongest choice for my logo because it’s the most dynamic. I like that the blue section is deep and saturated, creating a clear anchor point that's more primary color, while the orange, yellow, and magenta splatters have great direction and movement. This balance ensures the Blue Thread Studios text lockup remains the most readable and professional out of all my initial sketches.
